DENTAL MARKETING AUSTRALIA

Your Marketing Should Match How Your Practice Grows

Most practices don't have a marketing problem so much as a visibility and follow-up problem. You might not show up when local patients search, your ads might pull low-intent enquiries, or people drop out between the landing page and reception. Dental marketing works when it accounts for the whole patient journey, from the suburbs each clinic serves to the way your team follows up. We plan the channels and the measurement around the decisions your patients are actually making.

WHERE THE MONEY LEAKS

Where dental practices lose patients and budget

Most dental practices aren't short of marketing activity; they're short of a clear line between that activity and booked patients. Money goes into ads, a website and social posts, and no one can say which part brought the last 20 new patients. We see the same leaks again and again: budget spent on searches with no intent to book, a website that ranks but doesn't convert, and enquiries that ring out at lunch and never get a call back. Each leak is quiet on its own, and together they waste a large share of the budget. Finding that leak between activity, leads and booked patients is the core of how we work, and fixing it first makes every dollar after it go further.

SPEND TO BOOKED PATIENTS

We connect the spend to the chair

This is where we're different from most dental marketing agencies: we don't stop at clicks and form fills. We connect your marketing to your booking system and practice software, so you can see which campaigns bring patients who actually turn up and go ahead with treatment. We set up call tracking, conversion tracking and, where it helps, offline revenue attribution that ties a booked patient back to the ad that started them, and we connect your CRM so follow-up doesn't fall through the cracks. Then we report on the number that matters, cost per new patient, and cut the spend that isn't earning it. That means fewer guesses for your team, and budget moving from the campaigns that look busy to the ones that fill the book.

AHPRA AND YOUR ADS

Marketing that stays inside the rules

Every registered dental practice advertises under the AHPRA rules set out in Section 133 of the National Law. Your advertising can't mislead, can't use patient testimonials about clinical care, can't promise outcomes it can't support, and has to state the terms of any offer, and those rules cover your ads, your landing pages and the follow-up after.

We build campaigns to meet those rules from the first draft, with factual claims we can support, offers with their conditions attached, and reviews handled the way AHPRA expects. We're a marketing agency so final sign-off stays with your practice, but we bring a team that knows the boundaries and can still make the marketing perform inside them.

MULTI-LOCATION DENTAL MARKETING

One Strategy, Clear Performance by Practice

Multi-location dental groups need consistency without treating every clinic as identical, because search competition, local awareness and appointment availability shift from one suburb to the next. We manage the shared strategy, brand standards and reporting, then tune each location with catchment-based campaigns, local pages and Google Business Profiles, and budgets set against capacity rather than split evenly. The reporting works at two levels, so practice managers see what drives enquiries at their clinic and leadership gets a reliable group-level view of acquisition cost and channel performance. We build the measurement so both conversations use the same numbers..

How We Build Your Dental Marketing Strategy

Understand the Practice

1

We start with the business, not a channel package. We look at locations, treatment priorities, current appointment capacity, patient value, growth plans and the performance questions your team cannot answer. This tells us what the strategy needs to achieve and how success should be measured.

Audit Demand and Competition

2

We review search demand, local competitors, existing rankings, paid campaigns, creative, website journeys and tracking. For groups, we assess each location separately. A clinic with unused capacity may need a different channel mix from a well-established site focused on a specific treatment.

Fix the Measurement

3

Clicks and form submissions only show part of the story. We define the useful conversion points, improve call and booking tracking, and connect systems where access allows. The goal is a clearer view of which source, campaign and location produced an enquiry, appointment or patient.

Launch the Right Mix

4

We select the channels that fit the objective. That may include local and organic search, Google Ads, social, programmatic media, treatment content, landing pages or conversion improvements. Campaign and content checks happen before launch, with dental advertising requirements considered throughout production.

Improve What Matters

5

We review spend, lead quality, appointment outcomes and location performance. Budget can then move towards the treatments and clinics with capacity, while weak search terms, messages and landing pages are corrected. Reporting stays focused on the decisions your practice needs to make next.

Dental Marketing FAQs

What does a dental marketing agency do?

A dental marketing agency brings new patients to your practice and helps keep the ones you have. That covers your website, search rankings, Google and social ads, and the tracking that shows which of those bring booked patients. A good one works to a cost per new patient, not just clicks, and keeps every ad within the AHPRA advertising rules.

How much does dental marketing cost in Australia?

It depends on your goals, your competition and how many locations you run, so a single monthly retainer figure means little on its own. The number that matters is cost per new patient. A small single-surgery campaign looks very different from a multi-clinic group. We would rather show you the likely cost to win a patient in your area than quote a flat fee before we understand your practice.

Can dental practices advertise on Google and Facebook?

Yes. Dentists can run Google and Meta ads, and both are strong channels for patient demand. The advertising has to meet the AHPRA rules under Section 133 of the National Law, and each platform has its own healthcare policies on top. The work is in writing ads that perform and stay inside those rules at the same time.

Can you use patient testimonials in dental advertising?

No. Section 133 prohibits testimonials about the clinical side of care in advertising you control, which includes your ads, your website and your landing pages. Comments about non-clinical things like parking or reception are treated differently. Independent reviews on platforms you do not control, such as an unsolicited Google review, sit in their own category, and we help you handle all of this the way AHPRA expects.

How do you market multiple dental locations?

We run multi-location groups from one plan and one measurement system, with local search and local pages built for each practice. Head office sees performance by location, so you can tell which clinics are winning patients and which need support. We built exactly this for SmartClinics as it grew past 40 locations.

How long before dental marketing brings new patients?

Paid ads can bring booked patients within days of going live. Search rankings and organic growth build over months and then compound. We usually run both, using paid media to fill the book now while SEO lowers your cost per patient over time. You get early wins and a base that keeps paying off.

How do you measure whether dental marketing is working?

We measure booked patients and cost per new patient, not clicks. We connect call tracking, conversion tracking and your booking data, so a new patient can be traced back to the campaign that brought them. That is how we find the spend that is not earning its place and move it to what is.

Ready to grow your dental practice?

Tell us about your practice and what you want more of. We will come back with a clear read on your patient acquisition and where the quick wins are. No lock-in contract, no jargon, and a team that has done this for dental and healthcare groups across Australia.
