No. The compliance checker is a free tool that flags likely AHPRA, TGA, ACCC and ACQSC issues in ad copy. It's a useful pre-screen for everyday campaigns. For high-stakes campaigns — cosmetic surgery, oncology, mental health, NDIS pricing — we recommend formal legal review. We're happy to refer you to specialist healthcare lawyers.

Why does my ad need to be AHPRA-compliant if Meta or Google approved it?

Platform approval and regulator approval are different things. Meta and Google check against their own ad policies, which are global. AHPRA, TGA and ACCC enforce Australian-specific rules — testimonial restrictions, therapeutic claim limits, consumer law. An ad can run on Meta and still be reported to AHPRA. The platform won't take action on a regulator complaint until the regulator escalates it.

AHPRA penalties for advertising breaches under Section 133 can reach $30,000 per offence for individuals and significantly higher for corporations. TGA penalties for Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code breaches can reach $1.5 million for serious matters. ACCC consumer law penalties for misleading conduct can run into millions for organisations. The harder cost is usually reputational — public AHPRA notices stay searchable?

Yes. The 2023 AHPRA cosmetic surgery advertising guidelines added significant restrictions — no social media filters, no targeting under-18s, mandatory risk disclosures, no financial inducements.
